A laptop for twins suffering from kidney failure brings cheer
Miri twins Tracy and Tiffany Thomas who are suffering from kidney failure probably had a semblance of what it is like getting their wish come true when they received a visitor several weeks ago on their birthday.
The smiles on the faces of the nine year old twins and their excitement said it all when The Children’s Wish Society of Malaysia (CWS) granted their wish for a laptop.
Together with their mother Serena Merang, 28 Tracy and Tiffany enthusiastically unwrapped the present and started up the brand new laptop which was brought to them by a CWS representative.

Their plight which was highlighted in March this year had caught the attention of the Society, who provides children living with high-risk, life threatening illnesses the opportunity to realize their most heartfelt wish.
CWS presented the girls with a laptop computer to help them in advancing their education. Both girls are quite small and often are unable to use the computers in school as other students get there first and they wind up watching instead of using it.
“It is our wish that this gift will help them to fulfill their dreams and ambitions in learning,” CWS president Tan Sri Ramon Navaratnam said.
Serena expressed her heartfelt thanks to CWS for the caring gesture of granting her daughters their wish.

A follow-up visit by CWS board member Lim Ai Mee and member Alan Yip found the laptop right in front of the twins when they arrived. According to Serena, the twins used the laptop daily when they were at home.
Although looking frail and tired, the twins showed the visitors the laptop and the games that had been pre-loaded for them as well.
Both Tracy and Tiffany smiled even more when they were treated to some ice cream and soft drinks by their visitors.
